SJI International Preschool Receives HMPP Enduring Excellence Award

SJI International Preschool is proud to announce that we have been awarded the Healthy Meals in Preschool Programme (HMPP) Enduring Excellence Award by Singapore’s Health Promotion Board.

The award recognises preschools that demonstrate a sustained commitment to promoting healthy eating habits and creating positive food environments for young children.

As preschoolers spend a significant part of their day in school, preschools play an important role in shaping lifelong attitudes towards nutrition and wellbeing. At SJI International Preschool, we are committed to supporting our students’ holistic development through balanced meals, nutrition education, and positive mealtime experiences.

The Healthy Meals in Preschool Programme (HMPP) sets out guidelines to ensure children receive the nutrients necessary for healthy growth and development. These include:

  • serving balanced meals from essential food groups
  • incorporating wholegrains, fruits, and vegetables into daily meals
  • reducing fat, sugar, and sodium
  • encouraging plain water as the preferred beverage
  • limiting processed foods high in sodium
  • using healthier ingredients and products that meet Healthier Choice Symbol guidelines

The programme also includes age-appropriate nutrition recommendations for infants and young children, supporting healthy eating habits from the earliest years.

Receiving the Enduring Excellence Award reflects the collective efforts of our educators and culinary team who work together each day to create a warm and nurturing environment where healthy choices become everyday habits.

We thank our entire Preschool community for supporting our commitment to student wellbeing and healthy living.
